Punjab Group of Colleges joins hands with LUMS School of Education

Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Punjab Group of Colleges and LUMS School of Education joined hands on February 20, 2018 to beef up the scope of research and reaching lengths that will make the educational sector robust in every manner.

The event starred well-reputed personalities such as Prof. Sohail Afzal (Executive Director – Punjab Group of Colleges), Prof. Dr. Sohail H. Naqvi (Vice Chancellor – LUMS), Prof. Dr. Shahid (Project Director – Allied Schools) and Dr. Mariam Chughtai (Associate Dean of LUMS School of Education) and who stood firm in building an ideal platform for students to excel strappingly.

The Executive Director of Punjab Group of Colleges, Prof. Sohail Afzal emphasized on the significance of the MOU: “There is a need for the continuous professional development of teaching faculty; our teachers need to be trained to develop the knowledge and skills to address students’ learning challenges.” 
 
While addressing the audience, Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi (VC LUMS) stated that “The collaboration between the Punjab Group of Colleges and LUMS SOE will serve an important role in reforming the education sector in Pakistan.”
 
Dr. Mariam Chughtai, further added, “Education is the driver of economic growth and the fastest growing sector in Pakistan. We must look at this as an opportunity between the two institutions to impact policy reform”.
 
This beneficial collaboration between Punjab Group of Colleges and LUMS School of Education will engage high-quality education research that will help bridge the gap between theory and practice in the education sector. This will enable graduate students to use the data shared by Punjab Group of Colleges and Allied Schools for research purposes and would also be given the option of a full-time residency at PGC over the course of one semester.
