NRO stands for National Reconciliation Ordinance. NRO meaning in Urdu is, qomi mafahmate farman. It was a presidential ordinance introduced on 5th October 2007 by President General Pervaiz Musharraf. This ordinance resulted in relieving all criminals and criminal activities and no one was punished.
However, after two years in 2009, Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry considered it an illegitimate law and that it is a disputed law against the rules and regulations of the country. After that act against this law, all those cases and sentences were opened to courts.
